Acting Workshop: How to Follow the TAO - Tactics, Actions, and Objectives
$20.00

Saturday, June 6.

$20

A workshop about the way we say the what we say. Explore how to activate the character's need, further work how to find the shapes of thoughts in the text and the shifts between them, dig in to what these say about the inner life and outer expression of a character, and play with how to be responsive being active in their circumstances.

Escape the constraints of the intellectual, and enter the multitudinous dimensions of action!

Duration and format: three hours, to include lecture and practical applications of material to both a solo piece and a shared scene.

Materials: participants each bring one Shakespeare soliloquy/monologue, we will provide several possible scenes.

We'll be working from the book Actions: The Actor's Thesaurus

The Importance of Being Earnest
$425.00

Our summer show for those 10-18.

Shakespeare Gym: The Tempest
$350.00

Directed by Caryl Farkas.

Rehearsals will begin online at the end of March with close-reading (one night for each act) and Zoom specials with actors which will be tailored to fit the schedules of all involved. As soon as casts are figured out I will survey everyone to find a time that works for all.

In-person rehearsals would begin June 2, with 3 rehearsals per week - we will schedule one “All-called” per week Thursday evenings at UU, and two rehearsals designed for particular cast members at specific times at the Nest so in practice you wouldn’t be called 3 times a week.

Performances will be the last weekend in August (Thurs - Sun, 8/27 - 30). If we manage to have two casts we will revisit the idea of a second weekend.

Fight Call!
$100.00

Stage combat training Saturdays 11-12:30 p.m.
